A recent Blog Post by Job Alert says that some companies are actively running recruitment campaigns targeting candidates who have been displaced.

Roles such as Software Engineers, Product Designers, Program Managers and Java Developers are still very much in demand by big companies.

These large companies can appear as a great option to candidates as they offer job security and other employee benefits. Previously, these highly qualified candidates may have opted to work for smaller organisations for various reasons such as being given a greater degree of flexibility and in some cases company equity.

Leading company names such as Google and Facebook are actively recruiting top tech talent. In the wake of the 2008 financial crisis these companies also hired aggressively, taking on talent that had been laid off elsewhere.

There are many other professions that are currently in high demand. These include but are not limited to Engineers, Electrical Contractors and Chefs. Companies are conducting interviews online using popular video-conferencing apps such as Zoom and Skype.
